Foreign-Trade Zones (FTZ) are secure areas under U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) supervision that are generally considered outside CBP territory upon activation. Located in or near CBP ports of entry, they are the United States’ version of what are known internationally as free-trade zones.
Working with Decatur Mold allows benefits without being burdened with the paperwork. As a Foreign Trade Zone, we are a holding tank for foreign items until it’s entered into the U.S. Commerce. We have a Customs Broker on staff allowing us to work directly with the shippers and completing all necessary paperwork, saving time without utilizing additional resources. We track each shipment from door to door ensuring our customer needs are being met. The shippers we work with understand the time sensitivity of our products and work well to be sure our timelines are met.
For delivery of finished products, and pickup of molds incoming for repair or engineering change notification (ECN) alterations, we operate our own fleet of Kenworth trucks, one of few manufacturers in any industry to do so.
We maintain a staff of planning and logistics experts — they work seamlessly with all of our manufacturing departments to help keep processes moving smoothly. The staff includes full time, fully licensed customers brokers to help navigate the often confusing foreign trade zone regulations, almost unheard of in the industry.
Decatur Mold has been dedicated to going above and beyond in the name of providing outstanding customer service since 1966, and we will continue to do so for years to come. To learn more about the foreign trade support services we provide for you at Decatur Mold, reach out to us today.
